On December 19, five Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) militants, including the top 'commander' identified as Farooq Ahmed Bhat alias Farooq Nali were killed and two Security Forces (SFs) personnel were injured during an encounter at Kadder in the Behibagh area of Kulgam District of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), reports Daily Excelsior. Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) South Kashmir Range, Javid Iqbal Matoo identified the other slain militants as Mushtaq Ahmad Itoo, Adil Hajam, Irfan Yaqoob and Yasir Javed, adds thehindubusinessline.com. Five AK-47 rifles, two grenades and 20 magazines were recovered from the encounter site.
