According to media reports, Myanmar’s insurgent group Arakan Army (AA) seized parts of Bangladesh’s Teknaf upazila (Sub-District) in Cox's Bazar District of Chittagong Division, an area which is not only strategically significant but also sensitive due to its proximity to Rohingya refugee camps and Bangladesh’s Saint Martin Island, reports India.com on December 17. The report mentioned that multiple firefights have occurred between the AA and Bangladeshi forces along the border. However, the Bangladesh Government has yet to issue any official statement on the matter.
