Grenade event in Punjab, Shaheed Bhagat Singh (SBS) Nagar, Nawanshahr District area, India on Mon 16th December 2024

The Counter Intelligence (CI) and State Police arrested three associates of the Khalistan Zindabad Force (KZF), identified as Yugpreet Singh alias Yuvi, Jaskaran Singh, and Harjot Singh Jot from Shaheed Bhagat Singh (SBS) Nagar in Nawanshahr District in Punjab, for their involvement in a grenade attack at the Asron Police post in Nawanshahr District of Punjab on December 2, reports the Director General of Police (DGP), Punjab on X on December 14. A country-made pistol, a revolver, and six cartridges were recovered during the operation. Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav stated that the suspects were part of a KZF module controlled by handlers in Germany, the UK, and other countries. They were tasked with targeting Police establishments and minority leaders in Punjab and Haryana and had received INR 4.5, 000,00 in funding over the past six months. Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects procured the hand grenade from a Dead Letter Box (DLB), a secret exchange location, on GT Road in Jalandhar District of Punjab on November 28.
