Thirteen cadres of the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) were arrested, and explosives were seized in two separate incidents in Sukma District in the Bastar division of Chhattisgarh on December 13, reports The Print. Six of them were held by the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and local Police from Murkam village in Chintalnar, while seven others were arrested from a forest near Timmapuram village. “Of the six, Madvi Bhima is Revolutionary People’s Committee (RPC) Panch Committee ‘president’ of the outlawed Maoist movement. Ultra Madkam Baji Rao is a ‘Local Organization Squad (LOS) member’ under the Maoists’ Jagargunda area committee. He was carrying a reward of Rs1 lakh [INR 100,000] on his head,” a Police official said, adding, “We seized 22 gelatin rods, 20 empty detonators, 20 wooden spike holes, 12 spike holes, 10 detonators, 4 pencil shells, a tiffin and a pipe bomb from them.” The identities of the arrested cadres are yet to be ascertained.
