Two Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) cadres were killed in an encounter with security personnel in the forest area near Nendra and Punnur villages under the Gangalur Police Station limits in Bijapur District in the Bastar division of Chhattisgarh on December 13 (today), reports The Times of India. After the exchange of fire stopped, bodies of two Maoists, one 12-bore rifle, a tiffin bomb, a cooker bomb, explosives, and other Maoist-related materials were recovered from the spot, Bijapur Superintendent of Police (SP) Jitendra Kumar Yadav said. The two slain Maoists were identified as Gangalur Area Committee platoon deputy commander Pandu Madhwi and his fellow Naxalite [Left Wing Extremist, LWE] Munga Nayapara, the Police said.
