At least seven Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) cadres were killed in an encounter with Security Forces (SFs) comprising District Reserve Guard (DRG), Special Task Force (STF) and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), in the forests of Abujhmad in Narayanpur District in the Bastar division of Chhattisgarh on December 12, reports mid-day.com. The Maoists will be identified once the bodies are brought to a security camp, said Bastar Range, Inspector General of Police (IGP), P. Sundarraj. Cache of arms and ammunition has been seized, adds The Times of India. "Maoists from the Indravati division committee, East Bastar division, and Marh division committee are active in that region. As soon as our teams come to a connectivity area, we will be able to share more details," IGP Sundarraj said.
