A window was shattered when something exploded at a restaurant in Malmö on Tuesday night. A man and a woman in their 20s have been arrested and detained.

The alarm came just after 1 am and the suspects were then arrested in the nearby area.

They were found by the patrol a short distance from the crime scene and their description matches the witness statements from the crime scene, says Malmö police's press spokesperson Jimmy Modin.

The detainees are suspected of attempted public endangerment and offenses against the law on fire hazardous and explosive goods.

The police initially believed it was a firework, but this assessment was later changed. What exploded, the police cannot comment on yet.
