On 8 December 2024, in Moe Bye town (Pekon township, Taunggyi district, Shan-South state), the Myanmar military (LIB-422) based in Moe Bye town conducted drone strikes using bombs containing S-PHOS (560) chemical agents in the town and surrounding areas for the second day. Some members of the Karenni Nationalities Defense Force suffered symptoms such as dizziness, nausea, drowsiness, and physical weakness due to exposure to the chemical agents.
