On 11 December 2024, between Chaung-U town and Ngar Yin village (coded as Chaung-U) (Chaung-U township, Monywa district, Sagaing region), joint forces of PDF - Monywa District Battalion-12, Water Dragon Group, Seven People Defense Force (SPDF), and Eleven People's Defence Force carried out nine cluster mine attacks against four Myanmar military vehicles on Chaung-U - Myinmu road at around 10 am. 7 military soldiers died and 1 was seriously injured. Khit Thit Media reported that 8 military soldiers died in the mine attack. Fatalities coded as 7, using the lowest estimate.
