The village of Logbo Takpa, an entity of the Bahema-Nord chiefdom, in the territory of Djugu, in the province of Ituri, suffered three attacks by CODECO militiamen on Thursday, December 12, 2024.
According to local civil society, these militiamen returned to this village three consecutive times and killed two people and injured several others in this incursion.
Charité Banza, a human rights activist in the Bahema-Nord chiefdom, told Actu30.cd that these militiamen also set fire to houses in Logbo Takpa before leaving.
While deploring the resurgence of attacks by CODECO militias, Charité Banza advocates for the reinforcement of FARDC elements in order to protect the local population.
The army has not yet made a statement on this new attack by CODECO militiamen, despite having signed a commitment to cancel hostility.
