On 28 November 2024, in Nyaung Pin Thar village (Kyaukkyi township, Taungoo district, Bago-East region), three family members from Pauk Za Loke village stepped on a landmine planted by the Myanmar military while they were traveling from Pauk Za Loke village to Kyaukkyi town for shopping. A 27-year-old man and his five-year-old daughter were killed, and his 25-year-old wife sustained injuries.
