On 2 December 2024, RSF, backed by a militia (described as an Arab militia, coded as Darfur Arab militia), shelled artillery targeting Zamzam IDP camp (Al Fasher, North Darfur). 6-9 IDPs were killed and 13 were wounded. RSF claimed that they were targeting Darfur Joint forces who established checkpoints inside the camp. NGOs suspended their activities and the hospital was evacuated. One report mentioned that the Abu Shouk and Zamzam IDPs camps were also targeted by SAF airstrikes (uncorroborated). 84-119 families were displaced.
