On 25 November 2024, Israeli warplanes and drones carried out three airstrikes on the Al Bass road within the city's entrance, in the Al Sikka neighborhood, in Tyr (Tyr, South). 10 people were killed and 17 others were injured, according to an initial toll. An Israeli drone targeted a motorcycle on the road, and another targeted the Bawaba Square. Israeli warplanes carried out airstrikes on a building on Carthage Street, near Al-Baytar Station. This event is part of what the Israeli army called its 'new phase' of its war on Gaza, amid hostilities against Hezbollah.
