Eight lower-rung Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) cadres were arrested during an anti-Naxal [Left Wing Extremism, LWE] operation by the District Reserve Guard (DRG) and the local Police, between the Usoor and Tekmetla villages in Bijapur District in the Bastar division of Chhattisgarh on November 16, reports The Tribune. The arrested cadres were planning to plant an improvised explosive device (IED) between the Usoor-Tekmetla route to target Security Forces (SFs). Security personnel also recovered explosives from their possession. The identities of the arrested Maoists are yet to be ascertained.
