On 8 November 2024, two children were killed and another was wounded when a mortar shell fired by unidentified assailants hit them in Sharkai area of Shaktoi tehsil (South Waziristan, KPK). A local legislator claimed that security forces fired the shell, but this has not been confirmed. The TTP has also been involved in similar events. 2 fatalities.
