On 11 November 2024, near Hti Hant Tar village (Nyaungshwe township, Taunggyi district, Shan-South state), a 14-year-old boy stepped on a landmine planted by the Pa-Oh National Army (PNO/PNA) near their camp on the Hti Hant Tar mountain range at about 8 am. The incident occurred when the boy was tasked with delivering food to PNO/PNA troops as villagers were forced to do so in rotation. The boy died from the mine explosion.
