On 12 November 2024, in Tat Taung town (Ann township, Kyaukpyu district, Rakhine state), the Myanmar military troops stationed at the Western Regional Military Command fired heavy weapons which fell and exploded near an electricity office in the No.1 ward and a township hospital in the No.2 ward around 11 am. Narinjara News reported that a seventh-grade student was killed and two locals were injured while DMG reported only two locals were injured. Fatalities coded as 0, using the lowest estimate.
