Resistance Forces Overrun Military Checkpoint in Salin, Killing 11 Soldiers 

Local resistance forces reportedly attacked a military checkpoint near the Sote Lay Oo junction in Salin Township, Magway Region, killing 11 junta soldiers. The raid also resulted in the seizure of weapons and ammunition.

The No. 1 Battalion of People Defense Force – Minbu District (PDF-Minbu District) announced that the checkpoint, stationed by over 30 soldiers near Sote Lay Oo junction in Salin Township, was attacked at approximately 5:30 a.m. on Friday.

A soldier  of the No. 1 Battalion of  PDF-Minbu District told MPA,“We managed to capture the checkpoint. Locals reported that 11 soldiers were killed. We could only confirm seeing one body ourselves. We just don’t announce the details of the situation. Weapons were also seized, including at least three rifles.”

Following the attack, members of the resistance forces withdrew with any casualties.

He continued, ““The checkpoint we attacked is located near Sin Phyu Kyun Town, separated from our area by a bridge. The junta soldiers are confined to the Sin Phyu Kyun side and are unable to cross over to our side.”

The operation was carried out jointly by the No. 1 Battalion of PDF- Minbu District, the No. 5 Battalion of PDF-Minbu District, Daung Sit Aung(LPDF), and the Moe Kyo Guerrilla Force.

MPA has not independently verified the casualties reported for the junta soldiers.
