As a result of the humanitarian disaster caused by the floods in Al Hudaydah Governorate, the floods swept away mines, cluster bombs and remnants to various areas. The Executive Mine Action Center renews its warning to the people in all Yemeni regions, including Al Hudaydah Governorate, of the danger of mines and unexploded ordnance from the remnants of war that were swept away by floods from contaminated sites to residential and agricultural areas during the rainy season that our country is witnessing. The mines that are washed away and spread widely by the floods represent an additional threat to civilians in light of the heavy rains and floods that have hit Al Hudaydah Governorate and other governorates in the past hours. We call on all farmers, sheep and camel herders in the valleys, farms, deserts, and areas close to the population in the city of Hodeidah, which are polluted with waste, to be careful and not to tamper with it in the event of finding foreign objects swept away by the torrential rains to their areas.
