On November 9, 2024, Syrian regime forces fired multiple rocks and artillery shells at al-Atareb city in western rural Aleppo governorate, hitting two high schools – al-Atareb Public High School for Boys and al-Atareb High School for Girls. The two schools’ buildings were partially destroyed, while their interior furnishing was moderately damaged. The area is under the control of armed opposition factions and Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS).
