On 1 November 2024, the Nigerian Air Force launched air strikes at Niger militia attempting to disrupt the Shiroro-Kaduna power transmission repairs in Alawa Forest, Alawa (Shiroro, Niger). The Air Force was providing air cover for the repair of the power line vandalized by the militia. Several militants were killed. Several fatalities coded as 10.
