On 1 November 2024, in Hsam Ma Hse village of Nawnghkio township (Kyaukme district, Shan-North state), the Myanmar military conducted three airstrikes on a village, using a jet fighter. The airstrikes destroyed a sugar mill and several houses. RFA, Myanmar Now and KIC reported that the airstrikes killed three locals including a woman, a 70-year-old man, and a 50-year-old man, and injured two monks and four other people. Shwe Phee Myay News Agency and Khit Thit Media reported that 2 factory workers and 2 factory guards were killed. Fatalities coded as 3, using the lowest estimate.
