On 6 November 2024, unidentified militants (coded as TTP) on motorcycles hurled a hand grenade towards an under-construction girls school in Huwaid area of Bannu district (coded as Bannu, KPK), as the construction contractor had previously received calls for extortion. The explosion did not cause any damage to the building. The TTP has a history of targeting girls' schools in the region to deter female education, aligning with their strict interpretation of Islam. No casualties.
