On 8 November 2024, overnight, Israeli fighter jets carried out airstrikes in Tyr (Tyr, South). The initial toll was 9 people killed and 38 others wounded. 2 apartments caught fire. Search operations were ongoing for missing people under the rubble of residential buildings close to the Jumblatt roundabout and another building next to Al Bahsali Sweets, Safieddine Street. Later, warplanes fired two missiles into the city. This is part of what the Israeli army called operations against intelligence, command and control centers used by Hezbollah in the city of Tyre, within its 'new phase' of its war on Gaza, amid hostilities against Hezbollah.
