On 8 November 2024, Russian forces carried out FPV-kamikaze drone strikes, dropped drone-borne explosives and shelled unidentified targets in Pavlivka, Sumy, with 120mm mortars and 122mm barrel artillery. Russian forces (likely by shelling and drone strikes as the most common means) hit Ukrainian military positions near Pavlivka. According to Russian sources, Ukrainian military lost 2 IFVs, 1 AFV, 6 mortars, 4 vehicles, 2 radio-electronic warfare stations and more than 300 Ukrainian servicemen were killed near Sumy, Basivka, Khotin, Bilovody, Zhuravka, Vodolahy, Myropillia and Pavlivka.
