Bomb (Air Delivered) event in Kaohsiung area, Taiwan, Province of China on Sat 9th November 2024

Another unexploded bomb was found on the TSMC Kaohsiung site and the police immediately blocked it
At 11:11 a.m. local time on Monday (November 9), TSMC's site in Nanzi Science Park in Kaohsiung was reported to have discovered an "unexploded bomb." After the construction contractor called the police, the police quickly rushed to the scene and set up a blockade. The unexploded ordnance disposal team of the Eighth Army Corps also rushed to support.

According to Taiwanese media reports, TSMC Nanzi Science Park was built at the site of the former Kaohsiung Refinery, and construction of P1 and P2 plants is now underway. On August 8 this year, when workers were preparing land in the area, they discovered the remains of a 26-pound unexploded bomb suspected to be left over from World War II in the west area. The bomb body was severely rusted and did not have a fuse. The military had moved it to the left Proper storage in the camp warehouse.

Unexpectedly, there was another thrilling scene in the same place on Monday. The construction contractor accidentally discovered an unexploded bomb during the preparation of the site. At present, the police have set up red markings at the scene, and members of the unexploded ordnance disposal team of the Eighth Army Corps of Qishan have rushed to the scene to deal with it, which has once again raised safety concerns.
