On 26 October 2024, unidentified assailants (coded as TTP) detonated explosives targeting the residence of a former JUI-F senator in Khaisoor area in Tiarza tehsil (South Waziristan, KPK). The former senator's son claimed that individuals also stormed the house and opened fire, though the family remained unharmed. However, police sources claim militants had only planted an explosive near the former senator's residence. The JUI-F member also claimed that he had received extortion calls from unidentified persons prior to the attack threatening his family, and stated that the attack could have been related to his refusal to pay extortion. No casualties.
