On 29 October 2024, an IED planted by an unknown group (likely Al Shabaab, who carried out similar attacks and explosions in Lower Shabelle region) exploded, targeting government soldiers (SNA) traveling on a motorbike along the road between Afgooye and Cabdow Dibile village (Afgooye, Lower Shabelle). The device missed its target and there were no casualties.
