In Georgia, a polling station employee was detained for bomb threats WASHINGTON, November 5th. /tass/. An employee of a polling station in Georgia has been detained on suspicion of sending bomb threats to election commission employees.
This was announced by the US Department of Justice. According to investigators, a 25-year-old man sent a threatening letter to the head of the Jones County polling station, allegedly from one of the voters.
The suspect is accused of sending bomb threats, transmitting false information about the bomb threat and giving false testimony to the FBI. If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of 25 years in prison, the Ministry of Justice indicates.
Earlier, ABC TV channel, citing documents from the New York police, reported that employees involved in the work of election commissions in the US general elections receive threats, including physical violence. According to him, the flow of threats forces law enforcement agencies to allocate "significant resources" to ensure security and order in the general elections. The list of possible targets of attacks includes employees of election commissions, offices of election headquarters and polling stations.
