Eight militants and three soldiers were killed while seven militants sustained injuries in an exchange of fire during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Bakka Khel area of Bannu District in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) on October 30, reports Dawn. A statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that the Security Forces (SFs) planned an IBO after reports about the presence of militants in the area. It said the security forces effectively engaged militants and killed eight of them. Seven militants were injured. Major Atif Khalil (31), resident of Sudhanoti District of Pakistan administered Jammu and Kashmir (PaJK), was leading his troops when he was killed along with Naik Azadullah (36), resident of Karak District in KP, and Lance Naik Ghazanfar Abbas (35), resident of Layyah District in Punjab, the ISPR statement added.|
