Shots fired into Hampton home but police can't find victim or suspect
Witnesses report seeing bullet holes in someone's home on the quiet residential street

Several shots were fired into a home on a residential street in South West London in the early hours of this morning (Thursday, October 31) but police have been unable to find a wounded victim. Officers rushed to the scene in Hampton, Richmond, after receiving a worrying call about shots being fired at 2.19am.

When they got there, they confirmed that shots had been fired, but there was no sign of any injured victims or suspect gunmen at the scene. Instead, they discovered that bullets had flown into someone's home on the road and into a vehicle parked on the street.

Police are currently investigating and have put a short cordon in place on Linden Road with evidence markers on the street.

An anonymous witness at the scene said: "If you walk past the house with the policewoman outside, the door is open and the main front window has what look to be two bullet holes in it (but assumes no one hurt as limited police presence). Evidence markers on the road would fit with bullet casings"

The Met Police has issued a statement about the shooting. A spokesperson said: "Police were called at 02:19hrs on Thursday, 31 October to reports of shots fired in Hampton. Officers attended. At the scene a number of shots had been fired on Linden Road.

"There were no signs of any injured parties or suspects at the scene. A vehicle and a residential property were found to have sustained damage. There have been no arrests at this early stage. An investigation is underway. Anyone with information that can help police should call 101 ref CAD 606/31OCT."
