Air Delivered event in Iraq on Mon 28th October 2024

The Joint Operations Command announced, today, Wednesday (October 30, 2024), the discovery of 8 bodies of ISIS leadership elements after devastating strikes by Iraqi F16s in Kirkuk Governorate.

The command said in a statement received by "Baghdad Today", "Following our statement on October 28, in the operation that came based on accurate information and qualitative field work from the eyes of Iraq, the men of the Military Intelligence Directorate, who carried out a major penetration operation into the location of ISIS terrorist gangs and some of their leaders, in coordination with the targeting cell in the Joint Operations Command, in the geographically complex Hamrin Mountains," indicating that "in light of this accurate information, the brave Falcons of the Air carried out four painful strikes using  F-16 aircraft   , after harnessing sources and intersecting and analyzing intelligence information."

The command added, "Following this operation, today, Wednesday, a joint security force from the Iraqi army's special forces, with detachments from the Kirkuk Intelligence Directorate, under the supervision of its director, and the engineering effort of the 11th Division within the Kirkuk Operations Command sector, with technical and air support from the coalition, began going to the targeted location," noting that "the force found, until this statement was prepared, 8 bodies of terrorists, and according to the available information, among these buried are important leadership elements in ISIS, whose names and addresses will be announced later after conducting the DNA examination process ."

She added: "The force carrying out the duty also found weapons, ammunition, explosives, logistical materials, and communications devices, as the targeted location was a very fortified headquarters in the middle of mountains and caves.
