On 20 October 2024, an unknown attacker threw a hand grenade at a Taliban ranger vehicle in Darb Khosh area of Herat city. A newly-formed anti-Taliban group called the People's Sovereignty Front took responsibility for the attack, claiming the killing of one Taliban member and wounding of another, but the claim is uncorroborated. Fatalities coded as 0 based on the lowest estimate.
