On 21 October 2024, a quadcopter drone was used to drop explosives at Peer Mela marketplace in Tirah Valley (Khyber, KPK), injuring 13 civilians, primarily children who were struck by shrapnel. There are conflicting reports on who initiated the strike. Most sources suggest that the explosion was a military drone strike targeting militants.
