Around 22 October 2024 (as reported), in Ramree town (Ramree township, Kyaukpyu district, Rakhine state), a remnant exploded after a group of young people, who had been drinking at the Kin Chaung bridge, found it and struck it. A 16-year-old boy from Kin Te village and a 17-year-old boy from Aung Seik ward were killed, and 5 others sustained injuries.
