On 22 October 2024, in Hlaingbwe township (Hpa-An district, Kayin state), the Myanmar military conducted drone strikes on the Karen National Liberation Army (KNU/KNLA) Brigade 7 headquarters, the Thay Bae Hta base, and the Pa Yae Kyay Hta checkpoint located on the Shan Ywar Thit-Hlaingbwe road by using four kamikaze drones at around 10 am. One KNLA member was injured and the dinning hall at the Thay Bae Hta base was damaged.
