On 23 October 2024, Israeli warplanes carried out at least five airstrikes, dropped thermal ballons and broke the sound barrier over Tyr (Tyr, South). The airstrikes targeted a former building of the Sour municipality and hit areas in the neighborhoods of Azhar al-Salam and Dinieh. Strikes also targeted al-Chadid Society and a branch of Al Qard Al Hassan Association (affiliated with Hezbollah) in the city. An Israeli drone fired missiles targeting Al Sawt and Abu Deeb streets in the city. This event is part of what the Israeli army called its 'new phase' of its war on Gaza, amid hostilities against Hezbollah. Casualties unknown.
