On 24 October 2024, overnight, Israeli drones and warplanes fired flares and thermal balloons over the border villages adjacent to the Blue Line on the outskirts of Tyr and the coast (coded to Mays el Jabal (Marjayoun, Al Nabatieh). Casualties unknown. This event is part of what the Israeli army called its 'new phase' of its war on Gaza, amid hostilities against Hezbollah.
