On 25 October 2024, in Hmyaw Chaung village (Kyaukpyu township, Kyaukpyu district, Rakhine state), the Myanmar military troops stationed at the Taung Maw Gyi navy base conducted a drone strike and dropped two bombs on the village around 10:30 am without an armed clash occurring. A monastery and a house were destroyed. There were no casualties.
