SAA event in Cahul District, Cahul area, Moldova, Republic of on Mon 14th October 2024

Several people suspected of poaching were subject to searches. During the searches at the homes of two men aged 37 and 38, police officers found and seized 139 rounds of 12 mm caliber ammunition, 111 rounds of 16 mm caliber ammunition, two air guns, two long smooth-bore Simson and TOZ guns, as well as a smooth-bore "IJ 27" gun with the number and erased serial number, all illegally possessed and without any license documents. Violations were also detected in the possession and keeping of legally owned hunting weapons. The ammunition was adapted and used by the suspects for hunting wild animals without proper authorization and during the prohibited period at night (poaching). The investigation continues.
