On October 19, a gunfight erupted during peace talks involving legislators from the Meitei, Kuki-Zo-Hmar, and Naga communities in Jiribam District of Manipur, reports The Indian Express. An exchange of fire was reported between armed militants and a combined team of Manipur Police and Central Forces, with no casualties. This attack was carried out as the Manipur Police observed its 133rd Raising Day.
