A villager, identified as Sunil Surin (40), was killed after an Improvised Explosive Device (IED), planted by the cadres of the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) in the Hiragiri Forests under Jeraikela Police Station limits in West Singhbhum District of Jharkhand, blew up on October 18, reports The New Indian Express. While walking through the forest, Surin, a resident of Markanda village, sustained grievous injuries from the IED blast and later succumbed to his injuries.
