Bomb (Air Delivered) event in Manipur, Koutruk Ching Leikai Church, Imphal West District area, India on Sun 13th October 2024

On October 13, the fins and fuse materials of aerial bombs dropped from drones, were recovered by the Bomb Disposal Squad of the CID (Tech) at Koutruk Ching Leikai Church in Imphal West District of Manipur, contradicting claims made by former Assam Rifles DG Lt Gen PC Nair and Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi that no drone bombings were carried out by Kuki militants, reports The Imphal Free Press. Earlier, PC Nair had denied reports of Kuki militants using drones for aerial bombing and long-range rocket missiles during the ongoing crisis in Manipur, while General Upendra Dwivedi also stated that claims of drone bombings and the entry of 900 Kuki militants are false narratives. The findings showed that the bombs had no primer or propelling charges, which are necessary for firing or launching, but they did have fins or tail ends with rings, indicating they were dropped from the air. It is also suspected that the bombs may be locally made.
