On 12 October 2024, in Yaw Chaung village (Myebon township, Mrauk-U district, Rakhine state), the Myanmar military launched airstrikes on the village and the Yaw Chaung bridge located on the Sittwe-Yangon road using a fighter jet from around 6 pm until midnight. The bridge, two cars, and around seven houses were damaged. Casualties unknown.
