On 13 October 2024, in Waing village (Okpho township, Thayarwady district, Bago-West region), the Gyobingauk Hero Guerrilla Force (the People's Defense Force - Thayarwady District Battalion - 1 Company - 5) attacked a column of around 50 Myanmar military soldiers who were patrolling with four mines near a village clinic at about 1:45 pm. Khit Thit Media reported that over 10 military troops were killed and others were injured.
