On 14 October 2024, Russian Forces launched air strikes and shelled Ukrainian positions in the area of Cherneve, Sumy. According to Russian sources, 200 Ukrainian soldiers were killed in the area of Budivelne, Bilovody, Zhuravka, Zarutske, Katerynivka, Pavlivka, Rozsoshi, Trostianets, Shalyhyne, Cherneve and Ulanove.
