On 16 October 2024, overnight, US forces conducted 1 airstrike targeting underground Houthi weapons storage facilities in Jabal Nuqum (Azzal, Amanat al Asimah) to degrade their ability to target commercial and military ships in the Red Sea. Casualties unknown. CENTCOM did not specify the exact date of the airstrikes. CENTCOM also claimed to have used B-2 Spirit long-range stealth bombers to launch at least some of the airstrikes, for the first time in Yemen. National corresponding reports claimed strikes in 3 governorates Sanna, Amanat al Asimah, and Sadah.
