On 17 October 2024, Al Shabaab suicide bomber detonated a suicide vest, targeting civilians at a teashop in Iskuul Buluusiyo area in Mogadishu - Hamar Jabjab (Banadir). 8 people, including two women who were the owners of the teashop, off-duty soldiers, police officers, and the suicide bomber, were killed and around ten others were injured. Al Shabaab claimed to have killed 15 soldiers and injured 12 others.
