On 17 October 2024, Iraqi army F16s supported by the intelligence conducted four airstrikes targeting IS militants hideout (cave) on the outskirts of Shwan district near Turka village between Tapa Kura and Ali Musa villages (coded as Markaz Nahiyah Shuwan city, Kirkuk). The group consisted of four IS militants (gunmen) who were killed. The strikes were coordinated with Asayish and security leadership of the Kurdistan Regional Government as the militants had been active in both Kirkuk and As Sulaymaniyah governorates. 4 fatalities.
