A strong police mobilization is deployed in the streets of the Historic Center , between Motolinia and 5 de Mayo streets, where three gunshot wounds were reported after a shooting that took place at approximately 2:40 p.m. in front of one of the stores on the street.

One of the injured people is the deputy, trans activist and leader of merchants, Diana Sánchez Barrios . Later, the death of one of the men who were injured and who accompanied Diana was confirmed.

Three ambulances with injured people on board were removed from the scene and the scene is cordoned off by SSC elements .

On the floor you can see pools of blood and bullet casings as well as a scooter parked there.

"It was about half an hour ago, some guys on a motorcycle fired 8 or 9 shots and they got into a fight. I don't know if they killed them, but they took some people away in an ambulance," said one of the witnesses who witnessed the incident.

In front of the police, a man with glasses and a cap began to approach the people who were watching the scene and intimidate those who were taking photos and videos: “There are no gossips here, eh, keep your phones and no photos, go fuck yourself,” he said repeatedly.

According to the Secretariat of Citizen Security of Mexico City , the events occurred when they received a report of gunshots over the radio frequency. The police approached the site where they were informed that a person on foot had fired several shots at a woman and two men, who were injured and taken to different hospitals for specialized medical care.

The public prosecutor was informed of the incident. The video surveillance cameras in the area are being analysed and an operational deployment is being carried out in the area to identify and arrest the probable perpetrators.

At around 5:40 p.m., experts from the Attorney General's Office of Mexico City arrived at the scene of the attack on Diana Sánchez Barrios to collect evidence and to record the items still present at the crime scene located between 5 de Mayo and Motolinia streets.

According to videos circulating about the attack, the victim took refuge inside a Paris Express pharmacy on the same street, which is currently guarded by members of the Secretariat of Citizen Security.

Meanwhile, at the place where the two victims were found, pools of blood can still be seen, as well as bullet casings hidden under plastic containers, as well as the scooter that one of the victims was using.
